We’re less than two weeks away from the premiere ofAndorSeason 2, and Hot Toys is celebrating its imminent arrival by dropping two new figures of characters from the show. The first figure is for Cassian Andor, the titular character portrayed byDiego Lunawho first made his debut inRogue One: A Star Wars Story, and the second is for K-2SO, his lovable security droid companion who also debuted inRogue Onebut was absent fromAndorSeason 1. The CassianAndorfigure is inspired by Luna’s look inRogue One, notAndor, and shows him holding a blaster and wearing a Rebel intelligence uniform. The K-2SO collectible is inspired by his look inAndorSeason 2, which was first revealed ina recent teaser for the series.
Hot Toys' Run of ‘Star Wars’ Figures Continues
Despite skewing more towards Marvel at the start of the year,Hot Toys has released several newStar Warsfigures lately.Before announcing the new Cassian Andor and K-2O collectibles, Hot Toys also released the first look at a limited-edition Anakin Skywalker figure inspired byHayden Christensen’s look inRevenge of the Sith. The collectible is based on his appearance after his turn but before his fight with Obi-Wan, when he has hazy yellow eyes. Hot Toys also paid homage toThe Mandalorianby releasinga new Grogu figure, and while the adorable little green Force wielder already had several collectibles, the new and improved one is more articulate and allows for different poses.Mads Mikkelsen’s Galen Erso, another character fromRogue One: A Star Wars Story, also got a new Hot Toys figure not long ago.
Season 2 of ‘Andor’ Leads Into ‘Rogue One’
AndorSeason 2 will release its first three episodes on April 22, and unlike Season 1, it willcontinue to drop in three-episode chunksuntil concluding with the final three episodes on May 13. Plot specifics are being kept under wraps ahead of release, but each pod of episodes will follow a single story with time jumps in between, leading directly up to the events ofRogue One: A Star Wars Story.Stellan Skarsgård,Adria Arjona, andGenevieve O’Reillywill all reprise their respective roles as Luthen Rael, Mon Mothma, and Bix Caleen.
