Vin Dieselthe first look at directorDave Wilson’supcomingBloodshotmovie—based on the Valiant Comics character created in 1992 byKevin VanHook,Don PerlinandBob Layton—and yupp, that is most definitely a photo of Vin Diesel. There is 100%, no denying that Vin Diesel is in that photo. On the set ofBloodshotor casually strolling to the gym? Hard to say! But oh yeah, that’s Vin Diesel alright.

TheFast & the Furiousactor will, presumably, look a bit different by the end of the film. The character—one of the more popular in Valiant Comics' shared universe—used to be named Angelo Mortalli, a soldier who was subjected against his will to the experimental Project Rising Spirit. With nano-computers injected into his blood and his memory completely wiped, Mortalli becomes the pale-skinned Bloodshot, an anti-hero with regenerating powers and the ability to shape-shift who can also mind-meld with most computers. Bloodshot is usually depicted on the hunt for those who wronged him; he’s a bit like Marvel’s The Punisher if the skull on Frank Castle’s chest was just what the character looked like overall.
