Crosshas done the unimaginable merely a couple of weeks after the series made its debut. According toVariety, the first season of the book adaptation has been seen by forty million people since the show premiered onPrime Videoback on November 14. The streaming platform mentioned thatCrosshas officially become the third-biggest season premiere of the year. The only productions that have managed to score bigger viewership numbers than the book adaptation have beenFalloutandThe Rings of Power. Considering how big the other Prime Video series were, the success of the crime thriller comes as a surprise.

Crossfollows the titular character portrayed byAldis Hodge. The police detective enjoys spending time with his family, but an unexpected development sends Cross down a dangerous path. After the murder of his wife, the detective is obsessed with understanding the mind of a killer. When a new murder case becomes the focus of his obsession, Alex Cross does anything in his power to get to the bottom of the truth.Crosswas created for television byBen Watkins. The Success of ‘Cross’

While the first installment ofCrosshas proven to be successful for Prime Video, this isn’t the first time someone has tried to bring the complicated detective from the page to the screen. The fact that multiple adaptations of the novels have been produced means that audiences can’t get enough of the determined agent. Time will tell how far Alexander Cross will be able to go in his journey on Prime Video.
