It’s no news that CBS is giftingGhostsfans an hour-long holiday episode this December ahead of Christmas.The special is scheduled to air on Thursday, December 19, right beforethe sitcom goes on a midseason breakalongside the rest of CBS' Thursday night lineup. With the highly anticipated episode only two weeks away,Asher Grodman,who plays Trevor Lefkowitz, Woodstone’s resident pantless spirit and the most recently deceased of the principal ghosts, couldn’t help but keep fans posted with a hint of what’s ahead.
Speaking withTV Insider, Grodman shared, “There is a double possession coming up in that episode, which is brilliant,” after which he promised viewers a mind-blowing experience. In his words:
“I don’t know that I can tell you who is possessing who, but I can tell you thatthere [are] some performances that are going to blow your mind. And we get to meet Jay’s family.”
The holiday episode titled “A Very Arondekar Christmas” Parts 1 and 2 will see the arrival of Jay’s (Utkarsh Ambudkar) parents at Woodstone mansion. The visitors, Champa and Mahesh, will be portrayed bySakina Jaffrey(Mr. Robot) andBernard White(Beef). That’s not all! Jay’s sister Bela will also be visiting, markingPunam Patel’s (Special) return following her appearance in all three previous seasons.
It’s a Family Reunion in ‘Ghosts’ Season 4 Holiday Episode
Inthe December 19 installment ofGhosts, fans should expect some juicy family conflict, as Jay will have to deal with his parents' disapproval in person. Dishing on the complicated family relationships, Grodman teased that there will be “very touching things coming down[the line].” He further mentioned that the episode will explore how “Sam fits into that family dynamic, and Utkarsh and Rose do a great job with that. So it’s going to be a fun double whammy at Christmas.”
Earlier this year, we learned that Jay’s mother blames Sam (Rose McIver) for taking her son far away, and his father still hopes that Jay will forget about the risky B&B idea and pursue a career in engineering. Jay will have to face all that in the festive episode, which is teased as such:
“A leaky water heater mishap threatens to ruin holiday plans as Sam and Jay prepare to host Jay’s hard-to-please dad (White), difficult-to-impress mom (Jaffrey) and sister Bela (Patel).”
