Gods of Egypt, the new fantasy adventure film from directorAlex Proyas, is making quite a name for itself across the ‘net as of late. First, we were treated to the incredibly colorful and psychedeliccharacter postersfeaturingGerard Butler,Nikolaj Coster-Waldau,Brenton Thwaits,Chadwick BosemanandElodie Yung. Then the real magic happened when thefirst trailer dropped, a trailer chock full of Egyptian gods battling each other in computer-generated armor alongside eye-stealing thieves and giant fire-breathing snakes.

Despite all the on-screen insanity and modern visual effects, there was something familiar aboutGods of Egypt. It’s almost as if we’d seen these highly stylized cinematic versions of Egyptian gods somewhere before. Then it hit us:Gods of Egyptis just as loosely based on the ancient mythology asRoland Emmerich’s1996 sci-fi filmStargate. You could call it fate that these two movies should come together, so we’ve answered the call with a new mash-up trailer. If you look closely, you might even seen another space traveler from a visually similar movie sneak in at the end.
