“It was disappointing,” he admits. “I will simply say I’ve been a fan ofA Song of Ice and Firefor almost 25 years now, and working on the show has been truly one of the great privileges of, not only my career as a writer, but my life as a fan of science-fiction and fantasy.George himself is a monument, a literary icon in addition to a personal hero of mine, and was heavily influential on me coming up as a writer.”

George RR Martin Continues His Involvement in the World of the Westeros
House of the Dragonis not the only project adapted from his work that Martin has spoken about. In addition toGame of Thrones, there’s an upcoming entry into the Westeros that will be set in the time period between the two shows.A Knight of the Seven Kingdomswill follow Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and Prince Aegon Targaryen (Dexter Sol Ansell), and no not any of the ones we’ve met. The series is based off a short story collection by Martin. When he talked with Collider’sTherese Lacsonhe had nothing but praise for the new show. “I’ve seen Dunk and Egg, the first season, and it’s great,” Martin explained, “and now they’re working on the second season. Those are two characters were really special to me, and they’re unusual, those characters. They’re not what most people would expect in a fantasy story.”
The series set to release sometime this year, has a bit of a different tone than past adaptations of Martin’s work. “It’s a little softer. It’s a little more humorous. I hope the audience will be open to that kind of change.” Fret not, if you’re worried you’ll be missing out on bloody battles and the like, what we know aboutHouse of the DragonSeason 3 seems to imply you won’t be shorted. The next big event to look forward to isThe Battle of the Gullet, the book’s most devastating naval battle.
