It has now made nearly $55 million domestically, and another $4 million from overseas markets, fora cumulative global haul of almost $60 million. Produced ona reported budget of $15 million,The King of Kingsis the second-biggest hit in Angel Studios’ history. The outfit specializes in contentaimed at religious audiences, barring the occasional misinformation-spreader aimed at the Q-Anon crowd.The King of Kingsis an above-the-board movie; it’s inspired by a book written byCharles Dickens, who also appears as a main character along with his young son.

It holds an incredible 97% audience score on the aggregator websiteRotten Tomatoes, earning a “verified hot” badge of approval. The film’s official critics’ score sits at a less-glossy 65%.The Chosen: Last Supperseries was also acclaimed by its target audience; while the first two installments earned 99% audience scores on RT, the third received a 98% rating. On the polling platform CinemaScore,The King of Kingsearneda rare perfect A+, becoming one of only 128 movies in history to do so.
