McConaughey stars alongside another Oscar-winner,Marisa Tomei, in the 2011 legal thrillerThe Lincoln Lawyer, which follows Mick Haller (McConaughey), a defense attorney who lands a high-profile case in which he believes his client is innocent.The Lincoln Lawyeris currently only streaming on MGM+, butParamount+ has now announced that it will begin streaming on the platform on July 1. The film was well-liked, earning a“certified fresh”83% from critics and an 82% from audiences onRotten Tomatoes. It also doubled its $40 million budget with an $86 million box office performance.
The Lincoln Lawyer is based on the hit series of novels from authorMichael Connelly(Bosch), withJohn Romanoadapting them into film andBrad Furmandirecting. The film was such a hit that it even warranted a spin-off series, also dubbedThe Lincoln Lawyer, which has aired three seasons on Netflix to date and has already beenrenewed for Season 4. The show is a remake of the film and adaptation of Connelly’s novel, withManuel Garcia-Rulfotaking over the role of Mickey Haller from McConaughey.The Lincoln Lawyerdirector Brad Furman is also known for his work onThe Infiltrator, the 2016 R-rated crime thriller starringBryan Cranstonthat’s currently streaming on both Hulu and Prime Video. His first film afterThe Lincoln Lawyercame two years later onRunner Runner, another crime thriller starringBen AffleckandAnthony Mackie.
