Ms. Marvel: Costume Reveal
Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), better known as her superhero alias,Ms. Marvel, is one of the many newcomers appearing in the MCU’s next phase.Ms. Marvelstarts from humble beginnings as a young Pakistani girl from New Jersey who gains the ability to shape-shift. After discovering her newfound superpowers Kamala dons the title of Ms. Marvel, inspired by her idol,Captain Marvel.
Though Captain Marvel’s name isn’t Khan’s only inspiration. Her homemade costume bears similarities toBrie Larson’s Captain Marvel outfit as well. The color scheme shares a striking resemblance, along with the star in the middle of her chest, but the most inspired addition to Khan’s outfit is the flaming Mohawk helmet that Larson wore in the climax ofCaptain Marvel.
Thor: Love and Thunder: Matt Damon’s Return
Taika Waititi’sThor: Love and Thunderis shaping up to be another fun, exciting ride for the God of Thunder. Now cruising the cosmos alongside theGuardians of the Galaxy,Thorhas since left his responsibilities as the Prince of Asgard and is passing the torch toNatalie Portman’s Jane Foster, who is set to become the new owner of Mjolnir.
ThoughPortman isn’t the only one going to be wielding the magical hammer in the new film, asChris Hemsworth’s older brother,Luke Hemsworth,is set to play Thor as well, in the form of a stage actor first seen inThor: Ragnarök.And wherever there’s Thor there’s also Loki, played by none other thanMatt Damon.It seemsLove and Thunderpromises to bring back the Thor and Loki impersonatorsfor another humorous stage-play retelling of the brother’s misadventures.
Thor: Love and Thunder: The Guardians Are Back
Matt Damonisn’t the only cameo inThor: Love and ThunderasKaren Gillan’s Nebula andSean Gunn’s Kraglin can be seen roaming the set in full costume. Thor was last seen traveling with the Guardians of the Galaxy at the end ofAvengers: Endgameso it only makes sense for them to show up with Thor when he returns to New Asgard.
It’s unknown how big of a role the Guardians will play exactly. The set photos don’t reveal anything about the size ofGillanandGunn’sroles in the film, but they do show a new look for the two characters. Nebula can be seen with an updated outfit that looks less menacing than her previous appearances and Kraglin can be seen with Yondu’s head fin that controls the Yaka arrow.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Will Poulter Introduced
The current Guardians of the Galaxy are saying goodbye in the closing ofJames Gunn’sGuardians' Trilogy.Principal shooting has begun forGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3and with that comes news of new characters who will be joining the Guardians on their final adventure.

MCU newcomer,Will Poulter, is set to make an appearance as Adam Warlock, a powerful being that was teased at the end ofGuardians Vol. 2.Along with Poulter,comesPeacemakeralumChukwudi Iwujiin an undisclosed role. Iwujiclaims his character is “extremely powerful” and “deeply complex”.
Black Panther 2: Riri Williams
Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverhas experienced many setbacks since its beginning. After the tragic loss ofChadwick Boseman, it is unclear where Black Panther’s sequel will take the character. T’Challa’s younger sister Shuri (Letitia Wright),seems to be the prime candidate to take up the mantle, butLetitia Wright has run into problems, having been injured during filming, causing the film to delay even further.
It isn’t all doom and gloom for the Black Panther sequel though.Wakanda Foreveris set to bring in yet another new character into the MCU fold in the form of Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), who eventually becomes Ironheart. Riri is a teenage super-genius that builds her own Iron Man-like suit. Thorne is set to play Williams inWakanda Foreverand also in her own Disney+ show,Ironheart, releasing sometime in late 2022.
Thor: Love and Thunder: Bale’s Gorr
If Matt Damon and the Guardians of the Galaxy showing up inLove and Thunderwasn’t enough thenChristian Baleas the film’s antagonist, Gorr the God Butcher definitely will be. Known best for his role asDChero, Batman, inChristopher Nolan’sDark Knight Trilogy,Balehas lived long enough to see himself become aMarvelvillain.
Gorr the God Butcher is – shocker – a butcherer of gods. Born on an apocalyptic planet with no water and filled with devastating earthquakes, Gorr despised the gods who were supposed to look after their people, but have instead, turned a blind eye to them. Angered by this realization, Gorr makes it his duty to hunt down and eradicate the gods. Eventually bringing him face to face with the God of Thunder himself.
Ms. Marvel: Mysterio Link?
It seems Larson’sCaptain Marvel won’t be the only superhero connected toMs. Marvel, as new photos reveal the titular heroine being chased by what looks like a Stark Tech drone last seen inSpider-Man: Far From Home. Last used by Mysterio to attack London, the Stark drones were an illusionary device that could project realistic holographic images.
The drones have since been decommissioned, as seen inSpider-Man: No Way Home. So then why would one be chasing Ms. Marvel around? And who is controlling them? Only time will tell whenMs. Marvelreleases sometime in summer of 2022.
Secret Invasion: Emilia Clarke’s Mystery Role
Nick Fury is back and this time at the front and center.Samuel L Jacksonis set to return as the grumpy, one-eyed, super-spy alongsideCobie Smulders’Maria Hill. Last seen aboard a Skrull spaceship in aSpider-Man: Far From Homepost-credit scene, it seems Nick Fury is back on Earth trying to save humanity from yet another alien invasion, this timeBody Snatchersstyle.

Game of ThronesalumEmilia Clarkeis also set to appear in a mystery role. Clarke’s role is being kept under tightly secured wraps, and it is unknown if she will be playing an ally or adversary to Fury.
She-Hulk: Ruffalo’s Return
The Disney+ showShe-Hulkwill introduce the titular lawyer turned superhero withTatiana Maslanyleading as Jennifer Walters. Walters is a mild-mannered attorney who happens to be the cousin of the strongest Avenger,Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner. After an injury that forces Banner to donate blood to his cousin, Walters awakens with Hulk-like abilities.
Ruffalo’s Banner is set to star alongside Maslany’s Walters to help out his cousin with her newfound powers. Though they aren’t the only Hulk-like beings in the show asTim Roth’s Abomination is set to appearas well. She-Hulkis set to release sometime in summer 2022.
Thor: Love and Thunder: A New Thor
Love and Thunderis set to shake things up for the God of Thunder with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster next in line to achieve god-like abilities. Having appeared in the first twoThormovies then suddenly disappearing after an off-screen breakup, Foster returns in Thor’s fourth outing. This time to wield the mighty hammer Mjolnir.
The set photo revealsPortman’s Foster to be flying. Considering she is still in her civilian clothes and not wielding the hammer at this point, the photo could be showing the first time Foster is using her new powers.Thor: Love and Thunderis set to release on July 8th, 2022.
