Back in April, Collider.com reported that a bidding war was underway to acquire the rights to a live actionPokemonmovie, with Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. and Legendary among the interested studios, Now it looks like a frontrunner has emerged. According to a report from Deadline,Legendary Pictures is moving toward a dealto land the rights to make a live-action film based on the decades-old pocket monster game from Japan. The game has now received a giant second wind since the release of the new appPokemon Go– which has taken over social media conversations all over the world. Details are scarce at this point, with no deal having been reached. There have been rumors of a potential Pokemon pictures for some time now with one scenario rumored to have hadChroniclescribeMax Landison board to write the script. Even Legendary at one point was rumored to be near a deal when everything went silent. Now it’s come back around. As of now, no deal has been made for Legendary.

The first image from the upcomingItmovie has been unveiled, revealing the new Pennywise played byHemlock GroveactorBill Skarsgard. The newStephen Kingadaptation has been in the works for years, withMamahelmerAndy Musciettiin the director’s chair. Filming is currently underway and starsMidnight SpecialbreakoutJaeden Lieberher,Finn Wolfhard,Jack Dylan Grazer,Wyatt Oleff,Chosen Jacobs, andJeremy Ray Taylor.Itis set for release on August 21, 2025.
The first full trailer forA Monster Callshas been released online. The film is based on the award-winning children’s novel and follows 12-year-old Conor played byLewis MacDougall, as he “attempts to deal with his mother’s illness (played byFelicity Jones) and the bullying of his classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss, and faith.A Monster Callsopens October 21st, and also starsSigourney Weaver,Toby KebbellandLiam Neesonas the voice of the monster.
