Hulu has just teased an exciting sneak peek intoOnly Murders in The BuildingSeason 4 — and it looks like there’s a new trio in town! The exclusive behind-the-scenes picture showsEugene Levy(Schitt’s Creek),Zach Galifianakis(The Hangover),andEva Longoria(Desperate Housewives)dressed up as the show’s main characters Charles(Steve Martin), Oliver(Martin Short),and Mabel(Selena Gomez).
According to the official synopsis for Season 4, the main trio will head over to Los Angeles after learning that a Hollywood studio wants to make a movie out of their murder-mystery podcast. The photo showsOMITBguest starsLevy, Galifianakis, and Longoria appearing as themselves, portraying the film’s lead characters. However, after meeting their film doppelgangers, the lead trio is quickly swept into solving the murder of Charles’s stunt double, Sazz Pataki.
In an exclusive interview withEntertainment Tonight, Longoria gushed aboutOnly Murders in the Buildingco-stars. Not just Levy and Galifianakis, she also had high praises forMeryl Streep, Melissa McCarthy,andPaul Rudd, who are also joining the show forOMITBSeason 4. Longoria also revealed that the show will have one scene featuring all of them together, adding that her character is going to bring in a lot of humor and we’re living for it!
Steve Martin Believes ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 4 is the Show’s Best Yet
In an interview withPeople,Steve Martinadmitted that the upcoming season ofOnly Murders in the Buildingis as star-studded as it gets. During the show’s filming in New York City, Martin revealed thatthe entire cast has enjoyed working on the upcoming seasonand that the fans have a lot to look forward to. “We think it could be one of our best seasons,” added Martin.
Not just that — Martin also recently went on to share another behind-the-scenes update on his Instagram. The actor posted a photo of himself along with Martin Short andSelena Gomezasthe original trio was taking a break from filming. Short and Martin are sporting blue spandex body suits while Gomez is wearing an all-silver ensemble featuring a mini skirt, matching cap, metallic boots, and a shiny leather jacket.
The photo has sent the fans into a frenzy, with many of themspeculating about another‘White Room’ sequencewith Charles. However, considering that a huge part of the plot inOMITBSeason 4 revolves around the production of a film,the over-the-top costumes could also hintat the main trio being cast as actors in it.
What Was Only Murders In the Building Season 3 About?
Only Murders in The BuildingSeason 3 revolved around the murder of Ben Glenroy, played byPaul Rudd(Ant-man). OMITBSeason 3 features Ben as the star of Oliver’s new Broadway play, ‘Death Rattle.’ While the play is originally meant to revive Oliver’s career, the limelight is taken away from him when the lead actor dies on stage. While Oliver tries his best to make the play work, even recasting Ben’s role, the lead trio ultimately finds themselves tracking down the killer on the loose.
In addition to Rudd, the cast welcomed three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep as Loretta Durkin, the play’s leading lady and Oliver’s love interest. The star-studded lineup also includedLinda EmondandWesley Taylorplaying the mother-and-son duo who are eventually found to be guilty of Ben’s murder. Turns out that Emond’s character Linda gets her hands on an early review of the play and finds out that Ben’s performance was tanking the production and jeopardizing her son Cliff’s first Broadway producing credit. Since Lida has stage IV lung cancer and there’s not a lot of time for her to set up her son’s future, she decides to poison Ben’s cookie with rat poison with Cliff’s help.
The police arrest Donna and Cliff after the trio solves the season’s central mystery and Oliver successfully reopens his show. However, the celebrations are cut short when Charles' long-time body double Sazz is found shot to death in his apartment. The cliffhanger perfectly sets the stage forOMITBSeason 4as Sazz becomes the fourth murder victim in the building.
Only Murders in the BuildingSeason 4will premiere on Hulu on July 18, 2025. New episodes will be released weekly.
