One of the many films to world premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival was the dark comedyGreener Grass. Written, directed and starringJocelyn DeBoerandDawn Luebbe, the film is based on their SXSW award-winning 2016 short film by the same name. While most movies are easy to describe, I’ll admitGreener Grassis like nothing I’ve ever seen and can see it playing midnight festivals for a long time. The film is set in a demented suburbia where adults wear braces on their straight teeth, parents are willing to give up their kid to a neighbor with no warning, characters wear underwear as scarves, and no one wants to be the one to go first through a four-way stop sign....

And the simple premise of the film isn’t hard to conjure follow-ups to. With a newRobert Downey Jr.-ledremake of Vertigo reportedly on the way, its mere existence is enough to remind you of a time when Hitchcock spin-offs, sequels, and remakes were much more commonplace. That’s right – it’s time to go back to the 1990s. It’s unclear why there were so many Hitchcock remakes during the Clinton years, but there were a ton – including a revampedRebecca. In some ways the pump had been primed for this onslaught of Hitchcock adaptations....

Dr. Deathis not a show that you should consider watching right before your next trip to the doctor’s office. The Peacock limited series, based on the Wondery podcast, covers the true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch (played byJoshua Jackson), whose surgical career ruined the lives of numerous people — patients who trusted that he would help them get better. Duntsch was eventually stopped, thanks in no small part to the two doctors who worked to expose him (played byChristian SlaterandAlec Baldwin)....
