Marvel just wrapped up its Comic-Con presentation to great applause, and while we’ll have recaps of the panels for you later tonight, the officialSpider-Man: HomecomingTwitterreleased the first piece of concept artfrom the wall-crawler’s upcoming film. The footage that was shown ended with the Vulture, and this concept art gives Spidey’s nemesis a nice close-up as we see him do battle with the web-head: While it’s not surprising that the Vulture’s outfit is technologically advanced (I don’t think anyone expected something that looked more in line with the comics), it’s still a neat look, and I love the little details like the talon boots and propellers inside of the wings....

WhileRogue Oneis still doing well at the box office, the eyes ofStar Warsfans are now starting to turn to the highly anticipatedStar Wars: Episode VIII. I don’t think we’ll get anything concrete on the film, whether it be an official image or the title, until at least April (Disney wantsRogue Oneto run unimpeded for as long as possible), so right now we’re a bit in the desert. In a somewhat surprising move,Disney has announced that it is pulling an untitledStar Warsfilmthat was set for a December 18th, 2026 release date. We’ve got a bona fide horror hit on our hands.Don’t Breatheeasily won the weekend box office with a stellar $26.1 million debut, which is far above tracking numbers that had the film opening in the range of $11 million or so. The original home invasion horror pic opened even higher than directorFede Alvarez’s previous film, the 2013Evil Deadremake, which scored $25.7 million in its opening frame. Screen Gems is no doubt happy as the pic was made on a slim budget of just $10 million, and coupled with positive reviews, this certainly gets things off to a great start....

When HBO’s sci-fi epicWestworldbegan its narrative,Ed Harris’ portrayal of The Man in Black was one of the show’s best selling points. He was cruel, cool, and in control. If the Westworld park had a leaderboard, The Man in Black would top it every year. Coupled with the time-twisting reveal thatJimmi Simpson’s William was a portrayal of the Man in Black 30 years prior, the character became one of the most riveting aspects of Season 1....
