We’re able to reach out via text to close friends, acquaintances, and even strangers, and as social media branched out to services like Instagram and Four Square, we could even see where and what people were doing at any given moment....

The first time we seeJohn David Washington, the Protagonist ofTenet(capitalized because his name is literally Protagonist), he silently reloads a gun, flings an empty bullet shell into the air, and catches it, all while giving a performative scowl. The first line Washington says inTenetis the self-consciously “badass” code sentence, “We live in a twilight world.” In this pair of character introductions, from the physical to the auditory, writer/directorChristopher Nolanannounces exactly what kind of movieTenetis: A big one....

Right off the bat, I will say the one, perfect decision made byJack Ryanco-creatorsCarlton CuseandGraham Rolandwas castingJohn Krasinskias their title character. John Krasinski—currently hitting the peak of his well-earned transition from Office Boy to Action Man—is incredibly charming. Jack Ryan the character is not. Over the first four episodes of Amazon’s new spy-thriller series—based on a character created byTom Clancy—Jack Ryan doesn’t have much of a personality outside the fact that he’s played by John Krasinski....

James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios and the mastermind behind the upcomingSuperman,has officially revealed the new Superman logo exactly one year before the film’s highly anticipated release in 2025.The newly unveiled logo confirms what many fans had speculated: it draws direct inspiration from the iconic Kingdom Come storyline. The confirmation of the new logo came from Gunn himself, who posted an image of the crest on his social media platforms. This announcement follows a hint from February 2024, whenIsabela Merced, set to play Hawkgirl in the film, accidentally shared a behind-the-scenes imageon her Instagram story....

Without a doubt,James Gunnis one of the most talented filmmakers working today. One of his greatest strengths, specifically in the superhero genre, is the ability to take relatively unknown characters, team them up, and give us truly lovable families of anti-heroes.The Suicide Squad,Guardians of the Galaxy, andPeacemakerare his most famous examples and even his screenplays for the live-actionScooby-Doofilmsare a showcase of his ability to write a team of characters. However, whilst he is yet again entertaining us with the interpersonal dynamics of a team of antiheroes, withCreature Commandosbeing abreath of fresh air for DCafter the stale failure of the DCEU, it isstarting to feel like more of the same thing we have seen before, making the outcome predictable....

James Mangoldhas established himself as a terrific filmmaker with modern classics like the Best Picture nomineeFord v. Ferrari, the excellent comic book filmLogan, and the acclaimed remake of3:10 to Yuma. However, the most acclaimed project of Mangold’s careerthus far was the biopicWalk the Line, which starredJoaquin PhoenixasJohnny Cash.In addition to winningReese Witherspoonthe Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as June Carter,Walk the Linehelped revitalize Hollywood’s interest in making biographical films about the lives of acclaimed musicians....

J.J. Abramsgot his start in television with the hitsFelicityandAlias, and he’s returning to TV as a creator for the first time with the upcoming HBO sci-fi seriesDemimonde. The project was first announced back in 2018, when Abrams had just signed on to return to theStar Warsfranchise and directThe Rise of Skywalker. That concluding chapter took up quite a bit of his time, but over the past year, he and the team behindDemimondehave been able to get a lot of work done on the series as it hopefully gears up to progress forward this year....

LAIKA studios has spent the last decade or so producing some of the most artful and technically impressive animated films on the market. The multi-Academy Award nominated studio behindCoraline,Paranorman,The Boxtrolls, andKubo and the Two Stringsis consistently innovating cutting-edge stop-motion technology and putting it to use in beautifully bizarre, imaginative films. But their merchandising strategy has been noticeably lacking… until now. The animation studio has hired Striker Entertainment to serve as its worldwide licensing agent....

In one month, Disney+ is leading viewers on another treasure hunt, this time in the form of a TV series withNational Treasure: Edge of History. Following the footsteps of its movie predecessors,Edge of Historyintroduces a new protagonist as she tries to solve the mysteries of her past. Ahead of the release this December, Disney+ has shared a new poster. The poster maintains the general tone ofNational Treasure, echoing those of the movies in general layout and color palette....

Trailers are often our best guide to judge and decide whether we are going to watch the movie or series being promoted, they also give plenty to talk about and speculate among fans. Seeing a trailer for a movie or series you didn’t know was coming creates an excitement and anticipation, and seeing a trailer for something you knew was coming increases those feelings.
