Comedy isn’t exactly the first genre that springs to mind when you think of the Danish film industry. Yet,Anders Thomas Jensen’s filmMen & Chickenis most certainly that. Granted, it’s a deeply dark comedy featuring death, perversion, abusive families, sadness, andMads Mikkelsen. So, despite the laughs, it’s very much a project that will appeal to those who adore the special brand of cinematic misery delivered by the dastardly Danes. It’s a deeply weird and perverse movie designed to tickle the funny bones of viewers who are just as sick as the filmmakers....

In the original film, Chris (Ben Affleck) is devoid of nearly all emotion, withAnna Kendrick’s Dana being the sole source of humor during their scenes together. However, the tonal shift worked so well in making Christian a far more three-dimensional character. Perhapsno scene embodies this improvement in the audience’s connection with the character than the line-dancing sceneat the cowboy bar that he and Braxton (Jon Bernthal) go to, which makes it my favorite scene of the film, and it should be yours too....

Yesterday’s Disney Investor Day presentation was a true marathon.
