Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment have released a newPoint Breaktrailer for directorEricson Core’s (Invincible) remake ofKathryn Bigelow’s 1991 film of the same name. The film starsLuke Braceyas Johnny Utah, a young FBI agent who infiltrates a team of thrill-seeking athletes led by the charismatic Bodhi (Edgar Ramirez).
This is an absolutely solid action trailer, and the film looks like a blast, it just doesn’t look anything likePoint Break. For die hard fans of original movie, that might be off-putting, but it definitely looks like Core’s take on the material has a shot at standing on its own as a thrilling caper. The new trailer boasts some impressiveextreme stunt work, which I can’t wait to see on the big screen, butPoint Break’s real secret weapon is Ramirez who is endlessly charming, but hasn’t yet found his footing as a leading man in American films. Hopefully this will be the film that takes him to that next level.
