As we all wait in anticipation, let’s take a step into a different reality, to the beginning of the new millennium, when Loki, his variants, and the show’s supporting characters would be played by a whole different crop of actors. Manyactors want to join the MCU, but who has what it takes to take on the role of the God of Mischief?

Loki – William Fichtner

A surprising choice, butWilliam Fichtnerwould make for a fascinating Loki. In the early 2000s, Fichtner was taking small parts in big films likeThe Longest Yard,Ultraviolet, andThe Dark Knight.

With an ability to act with such seriousness and intensity in his roles, Fichtner also has the capacity for that subtle humorTom Hiddlestonbrings to the character, who is one ofthe MCU’s best villains. To see him in a leading role, and one so important as the God of Mischief, would most likely shock audiences from the 2000s.

Mobius – Zachary Quinto

Owen Wilsonstole our hearts in his portrayal of Mobius. However, if the show were cast in the 2000s, a very fitting choice for Mobius isZachary Quinto. The villain of the showHeroeswould fit snuggly into the character Mobius. Quinto could easily pull off the intricacies of Mobius’ checkered past and portray him with real authority.

While Wilson is great, he just doesn’t have that beautiful darkness, as Quinto seems to play characters with a lot of angst and passion. As a television actor, Quinto would make a perfect Mobius.

Kang – Taye Diggs

WhileJonathan Majorsplays an amazing Kang the Conqueror,Taye Diggswould have nailed the role in the 2000s. FromEquilibriumtoSlow Burn, Diggs has an edgy quality about him that encompasses Kang. He would easily portray the wickedness and humor of the villain in a new way.

Diggs was also part of the Marvel universe in the 2000s as the voice of Black Panther in the kids' showThe Super Hero Squad Show, which may lend to Diggs being the perfect choice for Kang.

Sylvie – Helena Bonham Carter

Sylvie’s character needs to have an edge, andHelena Bonham Carterbrings that to every role she’s cast in.The Corpse Bride,Sweeney Todd, and theHarry Potterseries are all movies that bring out Carter’s grim acting ability. She would most likely bring a fresh perspective to Sylvie thatSophia Di Martinodidn’t have, which is her gloomy attitude.

As a Loki variant, Sylvie starts off mysterious and we slowly start to understand her as the show progresses. Carter is great at portraying that air of mystery that surrounds most of her characters, and she would definitely bring that to the table inLoki.

Ravonna – Rosario Dawson

As the unspoken, hidden villain ofLoki, Ravonna Renslayer should be portrayed by someone with a tough but understanding acting method. WhileGugu Mbatha-Rawbrings this to the character, in the 2000s, the role would most likely go toRosario Dawson.

Dawson fits perfectly into this role. Breaking out in the mid-90s early 2000s, Dawson would shine as Ravonna from her experience inSin CityandKillshot. She has that subdued rebel quality she brings to her characters that would make her a great match for this offbeat villain.

Casey – John Cho

Let’s give John Cho a chance to shine and cast him as the fun-loving, hard-working TVA clerk Casey — anMCU character who totally deserves more screen time.

Harold and Kumar Go to White Castleof course captures Cho’s playful sense of humor, but he played a lot of small characters in shows throughout the 2000s that would lend to his portrayal of Casey.Grey’s Anatomy,How I Met Your Mother, andThe Singles Tableare shows that prove Cho would be a perfect fit for the role of Casey.

Hunter B-15 – Taraji P. Henson

Hunter B-15 is a tough, no-nonsense time cop out to round up every variant she can find, and the role would be great forTaraji P. Henson.

She has never been in a role like this before but based on her performances inHustle and FlowandBoston Legal, she would make for an interesting Hunter B-15. She is excellent at portraying serious, hardworking characters and that’s exactly who Hunter B-15 is.

Classic Loki – Christopher Lloyd

Such a goofy guy,Christopher LloydfromBack to the Futurewould be a great Classic Loki. He has that fun and wacky sense of humor, and his comedic timing really is unmatched. He had so many great role in the 2000s. His work inMalcolm in the Middle, theTremorsTV series, andLaw & Order: Criminal Intentshow that he is a great fit for the older version of Loki.

Richard E. Grant’sperformance in the show is unparalleled, but if the show were to be cast in the 2000s the role would definitely go to Lloyd.

Kid Loki – Frankie Muniz

This is a strange choice, butFrankie Munizmay actually be able to pull off Kid Loki. His role inMalcolm in the Middledefinitely shows his comedic ability. Playing Kid Loki would also allow him to bring out that mischievous, cunning personality in a way other child actors cannot.

There is also an eerie but vague resemblance to Fichtner, which would be a great casting choice for a Loki variant. And whileJack Vealdoes a great job, Frankie Muniz would surely get the role if Loki was filmed the 2000s.
