Through three seasons on FX so far,Ryan ReynoldsandRob McElhenneyhave helped steer Wrexham AFC to some formerly unthinkable heights. The third-oldest professional football club in the world has overcome the competition time and again to earn two successive promotions andbecome the incredible underdog story the pair had dreamed of. The question, then, is, can they achieve the three-peat? FX shared a new trailer forWelcome to WrexhamSeason 4 that sees the Welsh club take on some of its fiercest opponents yet in pursuit of accomplishing a feat the English Football Club has never seen before — earning three successive promotions and reaching the EFL Championship.

The footage immediately previews one of the toughest opponents Wrexham will be dealing with in the upcoming season in Birmingham FC, who have their own celebrity minority owner in NFL legendTom Brady. TheDeadpool & Wolverinestaris thankful that the seven-time Super Bowl champion won’t be taking the field against them, but his presence highlights how the next turn on this “roller coaster of magic” will come with the hardest challenges, highest stakes, and loftiest expectations the club has faced thus far. Even the Wrexham players aren’t entirely certain they can keep the streak going, with one person saying, “Realistically, we’ll lose.” One thing the team does have in its favor, however, is the energy from the community andthe hunger for something greater. It’s a “not friendly” competition at times that has “a nasty habit of kicking you in the bollocks,” but the high pressure may also bring out the best in the team and those around it as it continues its quest for football glory.
