After yet another strong weekend at the box office,Sinnershas silenced an iconic horror thriller from the mid-2000s.Ryan Coogler’s vampiric masterpiece earned another $8.7 million at the box office during its sixth weekend in theaters, helping its domestic total reach $256 million. It has also added $80 million in international markets for a global total of $336 million. This newfound domestic total is just enough to pushSinnerspastI Am Legend, the 2007 post-apocalyptic thriller led byWill Smith, which makes itone ofWarner Bros.30 biggest movies ever. However,I Am Legendearned $329 million internationally for a $585 million worldwide haul, more than $200 million ahead ofSinners.SinnersstarMichael B. Jordanwill team up with Smith fora sequel toI Am Legendthat’s currently in development.
Sinnersis finally winding down an unprecedented run of success at the box office after more than a month in theaters. The film opened with a stunning $48 million at the domestic box office, which was enough to defeatA Minecraft Movie, but its most impressive achievement came during its second weekend in theaters.Sinnersdropped a miraculous 5% during its second weekend in theaters on its way to earning $45 million at the box office. All other films inside the top 10 fell between 45% and 70%. Coogler’s period piece finally passed the torch at the box office during its third weekend in theaters toThunderbolts*, the second Marvel movie of 2025 behindCaptain America: Brave New World. It held on to the second spot for another weekend after that before falling to third behindFinal Destination Bloodlinesover the weekend of May 16.

When Is ‘Sinners’ Coming to Streaming?
Warner Bros. has yet to announce whenSinnerswill arrive on streaming, but the film recently took a major digital step forward.Prime Videohas finally created a tab forSinners, and the film is even available for pre-order, but there is no date currently attached as it only says“coming soon.”Now thatSinnershas been in theaters for more than six weeks and other new arrivals likeThe Final ReckoningandLilo & Stitchare here,Sinnerswill likely arrive on VOD soon and go up for sale on Prime Video and other platforms such as Fandango at Home.
