TheDCUis finally taking shape with the release ofCreature Commandoson Max late last year andSupermanhitting theaters this summer. The latter’s marketing campaign is speeding up with trailers and images. What is sure to follow soon is all the merchandise attached to the new DCU.Funkohas already started the party with their recentCreature CommandosPopset. Now, before Superman returns to the big screen, he’s taken flight with the Justice League in their latest comic cover set.

A part of the annual Target Con,the new Funko Pop Comic Cover is based on DC’sJustice Leagueof America#217 by artist George Perez from 1983. That cover featured Superman flying alongsideWonder Woman, Hawkman, Red Tornado,Aquaman, Green Arrow and Black Canary. The figure in the protective case recreates the Man of Steel’s pose from the iconic image. This will be a Target exclusive and available in stores soon. Funko looks to have a big DC presence in 2025. This comic cover now joins their newSuperman: The Movieand DC Pride Pop collections.

The DCU’s Justice League Is Fighting Back

After a few ruff years for the DC brand with box office bombs likeShazam! Fury of the Gods,Joker: Folie à DeuxandThe Flash, the DCU is ushering in an era of some of the genre’s best heroes. That starts withSupermanon July 11th, where the Man of Tomorrow will be played byDavid Corenswet. The first trailer that was released in December teased a brighter DC with a more balanced tone compared to the previous darker DCEU. The second major release this year will bePeacemakerSeason 2, which currently doesn’t have a concrete date yet.

Soon we’ll then see HBO’sLanterns,Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, andClayface. Other future releases includeTeen Titans,The Brave and the Bold, andSwamp Thing. As for the Justice League, a new version of the team may be taking shape inSuperman. This new potential team includes includes members like Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Mr. Terrific (Edi Gathegi), and Guy Gardner’s Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion). Supergirl will also be making her appear in the film before her debut inWoman of Tomorrow. The Girl of Steel will be played byHouse of the Dragon’s Milly Alcock.
