Per the latestreports, The Institute marksMGM+’s most successful premiere to date, raking in a record number of views during its premiere. The series centers on 12-year-old genius Luke Ellis (Joe Freeman), who wakes up one day in a mysterious facility known only as The Institute. The place, shrouded in secrecy and far from what it seems, is populated by other children who — like Luke — have no idea how they got there in the first place. But they all share one chilling similarity: each possesses an unusual ability. As the Institute continues to experiment on the children, ex-cop Tim Jamieson (Ben Barnes) from a nearby town suspects the place may be hiding a sinister secret.
